Lessons
What to expect, and how to get started.
How it works
Every lesson is live and one-to-one over video call. We'll work on technique, repertoire, sight-reading and theory at a pace that suits you — whether that's preparing for grade exams or just playing for fun.
Starting Out
New to the piano? I'll guide you through the early stages using established method books, alongside my own teaching material built up over years of teaching beginners — so you get a proven, structured path from your very first lesson, tailored as you progress.
What I Teach
Exam Preparation
Structured preparation for ABRSM, Trinity College London, and Rockschool piano exams, at every grade — building the technique, repertoire and aural skills each board looks for.
Music Theory
Dedicated theory teaching alongside your playing, or as a standalone subject — covering everything from the basics through to grade exam theory papers.
Music Technology
Lessons in music technology, covering recording, production and the tools used to compose and produce music today.
Playing for Enjoyment
No exams required — plenty of pupils simply want to play well and enjoy the piano, and lessons are shaped entirely around that goal.

Frequently Asked Questions
What equipment do I need?
A piano or keyboard with weighted (or semi-weighted) keys, a device with a camera for video calls, and a stable internet connection. A pair of headphones helps with sound quality.
How do online lessons work?
Lessons take place over Zoom at your booked time. On my side, I use a multiple-camera setup — including an overhead view and a side-on view — so I can clearly demonstrate technique. You just need a single camera. Please set your device up to the side of the piano or keyboard, angled so that both your hands, piano keyboard and your face are clearly visible on camera.
How do I pay?
Payment is taken securely through the website when you book a lesson — no bank details to arrange separately.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes — log in and manage your bookings from your account page. Cancel with at least 48 hours' notice and you won't be charged for the lesson. Cancellations made with less notice than that may still be charged.
